It is with our deepest sadness that we have learned of the passing of former Camellias Australia and Hume Camellia Society President, Dr. Ross Hayter, on Sunday 5 May 2013, at the age of 91 years.
Ross served the Albury community as a doctor for almost 30 years, during which time he was a founding member of the Hume Camellia Society. He built up a renowned garden on his Yackandandah property, where he lived until he moved to the Mid North Coast of New South Wales to be closer to family. He was also an Australian delegate to the International Camellia Society for many years.
Ross was last year featured in an article in the Wingham Chronicle.
