2012 National Camellia Show

Delegates were treated to the best Adelaide had to offer when that Camellia Society Adelaide Hills hosted the 2012 National Congress and Camellia Show in August.

Four days of activities included visits to Hahndorf, Stangate House and Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens, along with the National Camellia Show and Gala Dinner.

As expected, South Australian growers dominated the results of the Show, with Joy Hooper from Camellias SA winning the A.W. Jessep Medal for Grand Champion Bloom and the Dr Don Aspinal Award (Best Bloom of an Australian Raised Cultivar) with Camellia williamsii hybrid ‘Lady Gowrie’.  Shane Moeller, also from Camellias SA, won Reserve Champion with Camellia japonica ‘Guilio Nuccio Variegated’.
