The International Camellia Society is a non-profit organisation devoted to the genus Camellia, founded April 1962. Its annual publication is the “International Camellia Journal”. As the official registration authority for the genus Camellia, the ICS maintains the International Camellia Register, which is now available online. The ICS is also an important centre for research in the genus Camellia, through its Otomo Fund. The society has more than 2,000 members worldwide.
Because of the number of Australians who also belong to the International Camellia Society, Australia currently has three elected Directors who meet with other Directors at International Congresses.
Many members attend the biennial Congresses which are conducted by various member countries.
